how can i improve %RSD

Hi Guys,

I am testing Cetostearyl alcohol assay by GC using BP2011 method and getting the %RSD of about 6. Does any one know how can i improve the RSD.

Fatty alcohols can be derivitized as TMSilyl ethers or as esters.

This will increase the volatility and decrease the reactiveness of the alcohols.

The temperatures required for GC analysis often lends reactions of the alcohols with other components in the sample and with the active sites in the hardware.
