Hello,

i want to know than can use porapak Q with toluene?
From the manual, it is noted that the column can use with light aliphatic compound but i'm not sure about using with toluene.
And,

After aging of column, how long can we keep the column?

Thank you,
Yindee
Assuming a 2 meter column toluene is within the limits of temperature and reasonable time.

You may have to go to 220° or higher to elute it within 15 minutes but it is done easily. Methane will be less than 1 minute.

A shorter column is recommended, 2-3 ft.

best wishes,

Rod
