What kind of experiences do you have with different manufacturers' UHPLC columns? Waters compared with Phenomenex and so on...
anyway, no single column will be capable of giving a full solution for everything.

when you say waters or phenomenex on the other hand I think right away a comparison between porous columns of UHPLC and fused core technology.
there are several interesting debates from last year on the matter and one of the conclusion was
today one technology has the upper hand but tomorrow the other will be better
anyway both work well, and both require of you to take the right handling and care for UHPLC columns.
the right answer for what suits you best will be based on what you do.
