Hi all,

I have kind of figured out that my problem in the Varian GC/MS 400 system resides in the electrodes that may be worn off (the sylchrom layer).
I just got a quotation of 7,000.00 for a new set!!!!!!!!
I was wondering if anybody knows if it is possible to refurbish those electrodes by getting them re-coated?
Is there any company that offers this type of service?

Thanks a lot for the attention,

Erica
I'm not sure what Sylchrom is but a SIS (www.sisweb.com) does filament and other MS parts refurbishing etc. We send parts from a Thermo Magnetic Sector to them for reconditioning. Your best bet is to call them and ask if they do anything like that.

Sorry I'm not more helpful.

Hi,

you can ask Restek or http://www.silcotekgmbh.de (in Germany).
In the past Restek did the coating for Varian (so I was told)

Best regards

Stephan
