We just recently purchased a Nexera UHPLC system (binary). Any users of the system here? What are your experiences? What to take into account when using the system? Have you pumped hexane sith Nexera?

I'd be interested to know how you get on with baseline mixing noise. We had a look at this syetem and found unacceptable what appears to be excessive mixing noise running water/acetonitrile gradients with TFA at low wavelengths. I know this is the extreme test for any systems but it just seemed to be worse on the Nexera than it did on an Acquity or 1290.

if the baseline is not good , you just need to use either the 180µL mixer or both of them in line 180µL + 20µL and this will improve the basleine

We used both of those mixers and had special ones made for us - still no joy :(

with all UHPLCs systems you must tell your vendor that you mean to use Hexane
no UHPLc comes ready to use for hexane in long period of time.
in some cases you can use the system for a few days to 2 weeks, but then you must wash with IPA and reverse back to other solvents, otherwise you will kill the pump seals and other consumables
also you need to see that the waste tubing can deal with organics like hexane
it is not trivial at all

Not sure why you are mentioning hexane as a solvent - we never used it on the nexera system we had on loan. We stuck to standard reversed phased solvents i.e. water & acetontrile + 0.1% TFA.
