upgrade of PC for Waters Alliance 2690

Hello, I am looking to upgrade a PC to which is connected a Waters Alliance 2690 system. The software is Mill 32. What spec PC would be suitable. I was thinking of using transfering the network card into another PC with a higher spec, but realized this would not be possible due to the height of the card.

You help would be greatly appreciated

Waters tech support should be able to get that information for you.

Check the OS requirements for Mill32. I guess it doesn't run under win7. Getting a new PC with XP could also be difficult.

Hello abbidmajid,

ISA bus LAC/E card does not work with the PCI slot found in the new computers. If you want to upgrade your system you can:

1. Get a desktop computer with PCI slot card and with Windows XP Professional.

2. Get a PCI bus LAC/E card.

3. Install Empower version 1, 2 or 3.

4. Upgrade your 2690 unit to 2695 firmware version 2.03 or greater.
