There seems to be two versions of Waters Lambda-Max 481: one is with an adjustment knob for zeroing and the other has an autozero button. I am familiar with the former. However, what is the idea with the version with the autozero button? Should I push the button when pure mobile phase is in the cuvette to determine/set the baseline? And this will be the zero baseline thereafter? Does this system work reliably?

I allready have the manually adjustable version of this instrument in my lab. Now I could get another (with the autozero button system) at a reasonable prize and would like to know if it is worth of buying. Does this automatic version have some potential problems compared to the manual one?

I know that detector very well. If you are sure that your "new" mobil phase has washed out the cell from previous solvents, then , YES push the button.
BTW..if you need a cell any time call me I still have quite a few parts for that detector.
