The other night I set the machine to analyze samples over night. When I came back the next morning, the error window popped up but all it said was that the pumped was stopped at some point during the night. I looked in my data folder and there were no files there. And now "setup" button in Totalchrom can't be pressed. The only thing I can do on the "Run" button is "attach" or "detach." Has anyone had this problem before or have tips?
When running the machine, I set it up to run in Sequence mode, suppressing the data and to run automatically when ready.
Thanks
Underneath your Status window, it may say "port com 1". This is a communication error. You need to go to adminstration to clear out some files.
At the top of the home screen go to "Admin"
Click "Cam Admin"
It should say "Totalchrom Servers",
underneath that it will say the instrument name.
Look under the instrument name, delete ANYthing that is there (do NOT delete instrument name).
Exit, and try set up again.
Might need to exit Totalchrom and reenter.

Let me know.
How far did the sequence get? Assuming it ran at least one sample it should have at least one raw data file (since you suppressed processing you won't have an .RST files). Check the sequence file and see where .RAW and .RST files are stored; a simple typo here has had me scratching my head looking for "missing" data files.

Typically after a run has completed the only options under the run button in the Navigator window are "detach" and "take/release control"; if this is what you saw then I would say this is normal.
However, if you tried to "setup" the instrument for another analytical run and you received and error indicating the instrument is not in a state to be setup then you may need to use "Cam Administrator" to release some file locks and maybe even restart Totalchrom.
