Has anyone been successful in sending a start signal from an Agilent G2260A preparative automatic liquid sampler through a 9-pin remote cable to a Waters Fraction Collector III? I am able to start the fraction collector by shorting out pins 3 and 4 at the back of the unit, however, the start and ground signals from the ALS fail to start it. Thank you for your time.

Hi
You sometimes find the start / stop from the 9 pin is a bit too quick for some other instruments. I believe the G2260A like most 1100 inits will accept an external contacts board, with this you can change the speed of the open and closure which should fix your problem.

Thank you for your quick reply, LCbob - I will try this. All the best, Tony.
