I've been reading this site for a while but this is my first post.
Would anyone have suggestions in regards to a solution which I might be able to make up to check my 6890 on an interm bases. We currently have a service provider onsite yearly to PMOQ the system but I would be looking to do a 6 monthly internal check on the GC. I'm just wondering would anyone else do this type of check and if so what solutions and concentrations would you use? The GC configuration is a 6890 split/splitless inlet going to a FID and on the back split/splitless inlet going to a TCD. I was thinking would it be possible to use an Ethanol in IPA type solution or maybe a tetradecane and hexadecane in hexane as the precision and internal standard to check the system.
Any suggestions would be a great help,
