Just to comfort myself in what I believe is an OK phenomenon, I have recently switched from a broad gradient to a shallow gradient and seen a change in peak height in my sample. Area is pretty consistent (10309425 in broad 11035735 in shallow) but the height has gone from about 1.00 AU to 0.6 AU. My belief is in a broad gradient youre more likely to knock the target component off quickly (since the % change is so great) resulting in a tall/sharp peak, where in a shallow gradient, you're component can almost "leach" off, leading to a shorter/broader peak. Would I be correct in that assumption? Thanks!
