Low energy in deuterium lamp

I bought a deuterium lamp, and installed like the manual stated, but the energy is lower than the old lamp, what do you think that its happen? The chromatographer is an HItachi La Chrome Elite.

The most likely possibility is that the lamp in not aligned correctly.

That said, D2 lamps *do* have a finite shelf life as D2 can diffuse past glass-to-metal seals. See if you can find a manufacturer's date code on your "new" lamp.
