I am trying to develop a method to resolve 3-6 carbon mono- and dicarboxylic acids, as well as the aromatic acids gallic and protocatechuic. I/we have exhausted all optioins with traditional silica supported C-18 columns. We are now trying some dedicated organic acids columns. My question is this: Organic acids columns are extremely expensive, and we don't have the money to buy four different ones to try. Any recommendations from people 'schooled in the art' would be appreciated. There is enough analysis of pharma fermentations, as well as analysis in the paper industry, that somebody has already learned what I want to know. Hopefully then we can purchase a column that will do the job for us. Thanks, Patrick

My opinions might be bias, but I have about 1000 examples to support them. Check our website for new science and applications

Thanks Vlad. I appreciate the links and the information, but you represent a column company. Unless you are willing to send me a demo column, I am reluctant to take your word and spend our startup's very few dollars. I mean no offense, but every penny at this stage in our company is precious. I am impressed by the resolving of benzoic acid isomers, but how well would a muconic acid or adipic acid or DHS be retained? regards, Patrick
Cheers,

Patrick
Hi Patrick,

If you send me samples of your acids we will develop method for you free of charge. Once we develop it you can decide if you want to buy the column. I need 5-10 mg of each individual sample as well as your "real life" mixture.

Hi Vlad,

I would have to get permission for this, as well as a non-disclosure agreement. I will get with my boss and get back to you. thanks very much and I hope you have a nice weekend.

Patrick
