3396 Integrator II and GC 5890 chromatograph

I am having the same issues that I saw in the forum in 2004 for the intern using HP 3396 Series II Integrator and GC 5890. I get passed test on INET cables and GC when plugged into in and out on the actual GC,; however, when I connect the GC to the integrator, the test fails on GC and the integrator says loop is down. I can not find the service installation manual for the 3396 Series II Integrator to see what the configuration should be. THe GC has 8 switches with 5 being used for the address =15, but the integrator has 10 switches and they are not labeled so I do not know which are used for the address. I have tried different configurations, but the number of possibilities is too high to test all.
Again, because the loop is down, it will not read the HB-IL address.
Can anyone lead me in the right direction? or does anyone have a copy of the service/installation manual?
I have the user manual, the Basic programming manual, but they are not very helpful. I tried to use the installation manual for 3396 series I and 3396 series III, but series i does not have HB-IL address and series III has different number of switches and does not work.

Thanks for your help,
Pam

pamarama,

It sounds to me like you may have an HPIB I-net card rather than the integrator I-net card. Working from memory here, the integrator I-net cards don't have address switches for addressing. The good news is, the integrator I-net cards are really cheap on the used market.

Can you post a picture of the I-net card that you are plugging in to?

Best regards,

AICMM
