You can use at least for approaches for analysis of amino acids:
1. Traditional RP column with ion-pairing reagent in the mobile phase (a lot of published and well tested methods, including ones in USP)
2. Mixed-mode column. In mixed-mode column, ion-pairing reagent is attached to the surface of silica gel. Columns retain amino acids by combination of weak reversed-phase and moderate cation-exchange mechanisms. Method is compatible with ELSD, LC/MS and prep chromatography. I just had worked on my Amino Acids Application. I got excellent analysis on the following Japanese Column. I recommend you 100% to use this column.

Flow rate: 1.0 mL/min

Jardin question - its severe quest ! We a don't know she's problem (free aminoacid or in peptide, sample (food, enviroment ), quality or quantity analysis , concentration), equipment (aminoacid analyser, standart HPLC (detectors?), she qualification ("yang girl after scool whithout work experience" or " yang lady after institute and have work experience as "operator"").
Therefore, to give advice other than itself "to view the sea of information" is difficult. This advice though in rough shape, but is useful. The method is not new, soon to be half a century. Options for implementing a huge number.Good information gathered in the old references - such as the CRC "Chromatography" or Fundamentals and Application of Chromatographic and Electrophoretic Methods (E Heftmann)

And about your proposed method. Its method requires very high qualifications of the operator, and high concentration samples, since the low sensitivity of RI.
