Are HayeSep Q and Porapak Q the same? : http://www.chromres.com/HayeSep-C14377.aspx

The mixture of gasses of interest minus ethylene oxide: http://www.shimadzu.com.br/analitica/ap ... 0-917a.pdf

A bit more searching on the internet will show separation of ethylene oxide on Porapak Q.
Are they the same? NO. Waters owns the patent formulation for Porapak Q.

Are they similar? YES.

Can you substitute Hayesep Q for Porapak Q? For most things, yes. Not everything, but it is pretty close.

The pore sizes and pore volumes are SLIGHTLY different. Thus the chromatography is NOT identical.

For your application? No problem. EO is rather reactive and there has been a packing especially treated for its analysis. Search Supelco's web site.

best wishes,

Rod
