Dear all,

I want to know that are Haysep Q nad Porapak Q are same??? and if there is any difference then what is that ??

Further i want to analysed N2, CO2, CH4, C2H4, C2H6, and Ethylene oxide on this column with TCD , is it possible to do this with Porapak Q ???

A bit more searching on the internet will show separation of ethylene oxide on Porapak Q.

Are they the same? NO. Waters owns the patent formulation for Porapak Q.

Are they similar? YES.

Can you substitute Hayesep Q for Porapak Q? For most things, yes. Not everything, but it is pretty close.

The pore sizes and pore volumes are SLIGHTLY different. Thus the chromatography is NOT identical.

For your application? No problem. EO is rather reactive and there has been a packing especially treated for its analysis. Search Supelco's web site.
