I am trying to setup a LCMS system with a limited bugget. At the moment I have everything working with a waters 717 plus autosampler, perkin elmer series 200 pump and a waters QTOF mass spectrometer. However, the LC components are not connected to a management system and I am running off the front panels of each instrument. Fine it can be done with a little thought and time but life would be so much easier if I could control the autosampler and the pump via the computer. The MS is controlled by Masslynx ver 4 and cannot go higher than that (QTOF1 is not supported in a stable fashioned at ver 4.1 and higher), ver 4 does not accept the PE200 series pump or the Waters 717 plus autosampler. So I reasoned that if I could use could use say "TOTALCHROM" to run the autosampler and the pump I can save a lot of time and hassle.
We have chromeleon already inhouse but again this does not accept the waters 717 plus or the PE200, so TOTALCHROM is my best option. However, I do not know if this going to work and purchasing this software is expensive.
So my question is does anybody have a version of TOTALCHROM they nolonger need that they are willing to donate to a university so that I can try things out. I have no specific version in mind although I am willing to accept knowledgeable advise if anybody knows the good ver or an alternative solution.
heres hoping
