Storing Deuterium and Tungsten lamps

Hello. The projected lifetime of our deuterium lamp is 1000hours and the tungsten lamp is 2,500 hours.

I was told that these lamps can not be bought and stored. Unfortunately it takes a very long time to get consumables to the lab.

I would like to know long in advance they can be bought?

Thanks!!!

Tungsten lamps should have a pretty long shelf life. D2 lamps - not as long. These should be ordered shorlty before they will be used to get optimal life from them. Also - order them from suppliers who do not keep large inventories of them around. If it takes a long time to get one, this strategy will be particularly helpful. If a D2 lamp is 3-6 months old before you get your hands on it, you're probably OK. If it's a year or more on receipt, it's time to look for a new vendor and/or refine the timing your ordering.
