What is the difference between Porapak Q and Porapak S?
Thanks
The difference is the recipe of the co-polymers used with divinyl benzene.

Styrene, 4-vinyl pyridine, n-vinyl 2 pyrrolidone, and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate are commonly used.

This gives a different polarity to the structure of the plastic and permits different size pores to a degree.

Q is more non-polar. S is more polar than Q. N and T are also polar.

Their selectivities are slightly different as well as their temperature limits.

best wishes,

Rod
Thank you.
Try this site at Valco instruments. It gives the relative retenetion times of various compounds on their HayeSep products. HayeSep is virtually identical to Porapak.
