Fluorescence- unit

Hi guys

Could you please help me with this basic question.

I know that fluorescence is unitless but my detector measures it as emission or voltage units can you please explain where did those come from?

You always have to measure *something* . In this case it's the voltage coming from the photodetector (which is proportional to the intensity of the light hitting it.).
