Hello everyone,

I'm a student, and my master thesis is related with gas chromatography.
I've been looking for an information about detector signal's noise, but I wasn't able to find anything detailed (max. 1 page).


Do you know any article/book that I can find in the internet, which focuses on that phenomenon a little bit more?
It would be especially well if it would concern Flame Ionization Detector.

and this article (based on the abstract; I haven't read it) may help in detailing how to enhance signal-to-noise in an FID by methods of signal handling/manipulation:

For general signal-to-noise enhancement, I have "Principles of Instrumental Analysis" 4th edition, Skoog and Leary, which has a chapter devoted to signals and noise (chapter 4).

They may not be "max. 1 page", but they may be helpful nonetheless.
