I have HP 5890 series II which successfully works with Chemstation A 10.01. Now I tried to upgrade Chemstaion to B 04.01 but with this version can't esteblish stable connection with chromatograph. In Logbook Instr1.log every 3 second I see:
and on hp 5890 display I see that parameters passes again and again... without stop.

new chemstation can't correctly works with hp 5890?

1) На Анхеме терли эту тему. Один из вариантов- использовать Унихром.
2) Обратись в Московский интерлаб, interlab@ sevice.ru. Лучше всего к уважаемому Борис Петровичу Лапину, Lapin@interlab.ru. У него есть знакомые в Киеве, занимающиеся дистрибуцией и сервисом, подскажет телефончик. А может и поодкинет мануал или программный плагин из своих запасов.

If you look into the 'Install' folder of your ChemStation CD and read the 'readme.txt' file you will see that the 5890 is not supported in rev B.04.01.

yes, I see that but there indicated:
and I have hp 5890 Series II...

however, I find possible reason of problem - Min. Firmware Revision: my HP5890 has only A.02.01 revision... as far I understand it's not simle task - upgrade firmware..?

Updating firmware is do-able, but a little awkward. Details and firmware can be downloaded from the Agilent.com

unfortunately, I can't find firmware for hp5890 on agilent site and wherever in internet, only for latest chromatographs... seems agilent believes that hp5890 already hopelessly obsolete...

did you meet it elsewhere?

I'll be back at work Tuesday. If you post your E-mail address (e.g. abd -at-134.com) I can E-mail to you all the files I have already downloaded and saved. Some of these files I think are also on the ChemStation CD disc.

the reason of my problem was regional setting issue of my PC (with Ukrainian options). It should be set up to English (US), or, at least, following options:

• Decimal symbol = . (point)
• Digit grouping symbol = , (comma)
• List separator = , (comma)

seems as chemstation at startup unabled set some parameters it's called error which reconnect chromatograph again and again.

After choosing correct setting on PC HP5890 and Chemstation works like a charm!
