Per my Reference Manual (G1312-90004):
Probable Causes:
Blocked Active Inlet Valve (G1312-60010)
Defective Pump Drive Assembly (G1311-69001)
Defective HPM Board (G1312-69520)
Suggested Actions:
Exchange the Active Inlet Valve
Exchange the Pump Drive Assembly
Exchange the HPM Board
For your sake, I hope it's the active inlet valve. The drive assembly is $2637 US and the board is about $700, IIRC. Does the error message indicate which part of the Pump is failing? It should say either Pump Channel A or Pump Channel B in the instrument logbook, I believe.
If you can figure out which pump it is, you can swap the active inlet valves between pump heads (A-AIV to B, B-AIV to A) and restart the pump. If the same error occurs, but on the other pump head, you can be pretty certain it's the AIV. If it still fails on the same side as before, it's probably either the drive or the board.

The cartridge part of the active inlet valve can be swapped for a new one, to see if that helps. That's considerable less expensive than an entire new active inlet valve.

Very true, I did neglect that. The cartridge is about $180 US, and is part # 5062-8562.

The most possible reason of this problem is the defective Pump Drive Assembly.
