Hi everyone,

I have been working with an Shimazdu ion chromatograph with suppressor cartridge and a mobile phase of NaHCO3/NaCO3. I use Shimazdu Column with pre-column.
Recently the pressure of my system has increased too much. I have identified that one of the cartridges suppression system appears to be blocked. I tried to run water and mobile phase at a low flow to see if I can reduce the pressure, but I have not had a good result. Before this happened, the system was working properly and a moderate pressure (70 kgf/cm2) and no changes in mobile phasehas been done at any time as to produce a precipitation in the suppressor cartridge. I wanted to see if anyone has any idea how to recover the cartridge? and what could be the cause of such obstruction?
Thanks in advance
Hi
You can crushed sorbent in a column or cartridge at high pressure?
Try to demotage the cartridge and set the column opposite.
If the pressure in this fall - then 100% crushed sorbent and scored sorbent filter. Column and cartridge "kaput" .
