EM voltage randomly changing

Discussions about GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-FTIR, and other "coupled" analytical techniques.

Hi guys,

in the past when I acquired data, the EM voltage would run consistently at the same voltage for each injection, which would always be the autotune voltage +12 relative.

Recently however, I have noticed fluctuations in sensitivity and when I checked the saved method parameters for each data file, I noticed that the EM voltage was different for *each* injection (eg. 2247, 2011, 2294). I thought the whole point of the autotune was to get the best operating voltage which is then saved and used for all the subsequent analyses.

Why would the voltages change? Could my atune file be corrupted?

cheers
Liz
Which instrument model, software, and software revision/version number?
ah, I've just double-checked the injection and autotune times and it was just me getting carried away with autotunes, sorry about that. (Time for a coffee!)
We are troubleshooting a problem with apparent sample loss at present so I have been running a few more autotunes than usual. Is it possible to remove my post?
