We have been running Chromeleon 6.5 and started upgrading to 6.8. At the same time, we are upgrading our computers to better handle 6.8. We switched out one of our Client Servers that is connected for a UCI_100 box. It appears that the new computer is seeing the UCI box and we are able to connect to all the timebases. Our problem is the client server is not seeing the remote start from the GC. We start a sequence and it just sit there waiting for the start signal. We have even tried to short the signal to make sure that it was not a problem with the GCs. We have four GCs with dual detectors and none of them work right now. I am sure we have missed something in the configuration of the new computer, but have been unable to find it.

I am still very new to Chromeleon having only used it for about a month. I am just at the novice level. Any help you can give me would be great. I have tried Dionex tech support and have them stumped.

Thanks
Hi,
To "Chromeleon Server Configuration", have you added a "Remote Injection" virtual device and set it up to correct insignal on the UCI 100 box? (But this Chromeleon support should have told you...) Hope it helps.
One important part of upgrading is to keep all major parts of the older installation at hand for help

first go back to the PC that was connected to those GCs with 6.5 CM.
look back at the way it was connected there in the CM server configuration
this is the greatest help possible.

what are the GCs that you are saying you are connecting too?
in 90% cases it should be an agilent, but the question is what type?
are they 5890?
many time you need a COM connection between the PC and the GC
in most cases the start point is something that is actually sent from the autosampler,
what are you using?

more details will be helpfull
