Hi,
I'm working on a Varian 3800 and got a fault saying "oven temp probe response too slow". The fault cleared, but I still can't get the oven temp to go up. Is there a manual reset that needs to be done?? Also are there any technical manuals for the instrument??
Thanks
Mike

What appeared to cause the fault initially? If you were doing maintenance inside of the oven with the door open, and didn't turn the oven off via the 3800 keyboard, then the oven will fault after a short period of not being able to maintain setpoint. In order to clear this type of fault, you simply need to reboot the 3800 GC via the on/off switch on the top left (back) side of the instrument.
Does this fix the problem or is the 3800 still not able to heat properly after a hard reboot?

Thanks for the reply, yeah I had the oven open when it faulted, I was just checking what column was inside ( My first week on the instrument with no maintenance contract and only one person has used it before and he hasn't done an injection in over a year). The reboot worked, thanks a bunch.

If oven door is closed properly , GC is initializing properly still oven not heating then it apper to be possibly oven heater is faulty.
