I would like to know what all precautions (or changes to system) should I take of using regular Agilent 1200 series HPLC with mobile phase pH of 9 ??

Thanks

Per a document on Agilent's website:

"In general, 1200 modules operate over a pH range 1 to 12.5.

pH > 9.5
• Replace standard (Vespel) rotor seals in all rotary valves with either
Tefzel or PEEK seals.
• Replace the standard glass solvent inlet filters with stainless steel inlet
filters.
• Be aware that quartz flow cell windows are slowly etched. Don’t let
high pH solvents stand in the flow cell for long periods."

So, you're at pH 9, which is right on the border of their precautions, so it might be a good idea to swap the recommended parts just to be safe.
