Hi there,

I am thinking of back-extracting the PDMS passive samplers with Hexane/DCM (1:1). I read somewhere that DCM can damage the PDMS phase. Is this true? If so, what are the consequences: would I have siloxane in my extracts and would show up in the chromatograms and cause serious issue? Is there some way to get rid of siloxanes from my extracts? These PDMS samplers are disposable so I will not use them again and would not have the problems of recoveries and carry-over. After extraction, I will use the fractionation step to separate different families of compounds (hydrophobic halogenated compounds)

Thanks
