Benomy fungicide residue in soil

Dear friends, am studying the effect of the fngicide Benomyl on soil microorganisms. Am looking forward to knowing the best (preferably not complex) method for residue extraction and cleanup, given that it will dbe done with an RP-C-18 HPLC column.150-4.6. Soil has been encubated with different benomyl cocentrations for 12 months.
Should I use a buffer with the extraction solvent or not? if yes, what's the most suitable buffer?.
what most suitable to use as a standard, benomyl or carbendazim (more stable derivative) ?
If may help me with my qustions I would be grateful to you.

By googling "benomyl soil analysis" I seem to have come up with a number of references to analysis of benomyl in soil, including a review: http://www.iupac.org/publications/pac/1 ... 1x2567.pdf. And these will conclude extraction methods and some have analysis of degredation products. Is there a published work that seems to come close to what you are trying to do? Or is there a particuar constraint that you have that does not seem to be covered in the published literature? (And my look on the web was cursory -- I was looking at postings while getting ready to leave for work. I'll check back when I get home.)
