I've been out of the lab for a while, and the last rig I ran was a 6890, so- sorry if this is a basic question.

If I'm buying a refurbed 5890 series II for the lab, what are my software options? Are there any freeware packages out there?
Unfortunately the 5890 is a rather old machine (as i have thought about purchasing one before), and with that, the software for the readouts/analytical data I would presume be hard to get hold of, I am still doing research for the 5890 II I will update you if I come across a software solution for you!

Best of luck

If that 5890 is already computerized (e.g. has circuit boards in the module), it should've come with a license number, software, and computer.

We use Win95 or Win2000 with our 5890 units, and Agilent A.06.03 through A.09.01
Thor2202,

The fundamental question that helps resolve your question is if all of your components of interest are going to be at basically the same level. If that is the case, you can use the analog out function and the range function of the 5890 to report to a wide range of data systems that will allow you to manipulate the data electronically. If your components of interest are at widely different concentrations, you will have a much harder time getting everything on scale with the 5890 analog out and you should really look at an integrated acquisition package like Chemstation. So which is it?

2 years ago (before my job went away) I had 2 5890s running on Empower 2. Don't know if Empower 3 supports them.

Also have a look to our UniChrom software

Demo version acquisition works for 3 min.
