It depends upon the type of injector and the brand of GC you have.

Supelco and Restek probably have kits to convert the injector to megabore.

I had Varian 3500 and 3600 GCs where I used a injection liner that was too long and for another brand for my injection port, but I was able to mount a megabore column at the end of it, using the polyimide coating of the column to make a seal. That was the cheapest conversion, and the most inert as well.

Agilent has an insert of metal to convert their injector to megabore but it is not an inert solution in my opinion.

best wishes,

Rod

There are glass inlet liners that you can then butt a megabore column into directly and it becomes a megabore injector. There are versions for on-column and for flash injection. Last I looked they were available from Grace Alltech but it has been a while since I looked. Because it is a glass inlet liner, you need to be very dainty in your installation or you might spiral crack the glass.

For flows, if you are running the megabore near packed flow rates you should not need to anything further. If low flow rates (z.b. below 10 mL/min) you might consider adding make-up to your detector flow.
