Hi! We dont have GCMS so I have to detect this volatile sesquiterpene using LCMSMS ESI source. Will it be possible to detect this compound by LCMSMS? What parameters should i modify to detect it?

it will be very hard. My experience of terpenes is that they give extremely poor signals unless glycosylated, in which case they are easy by LC-MS. They fragment poorly in LC-MS because they have few leaving groups and many rings, and they ionise badly because they are alkanes with very few ionisable groups (one hydroxyl). Can you find a collaborator with a GC-MS?

Thanks for your reply. We will not have GCMS for sure..
