Grace Discovery v. Alltech

Off-topic conversations and chit-chat.

Anyone like to share their experiences with dealing with Grace Discovery v. past experiences dealing with Alltech?

I'll start: Grace Technical Service told me they cannot supply HPLC columns with three different lots of packing, a cGMP requirement for new test method validations.
Altech was always very responsive to special requests for me in the past. I have not dealt with them since they were acquired by Grace.
I used to go to Alltech for simple hplc hardware & consumables (tubing, unions, vials, inserts etc., but not columns) because they were very cheap; since Grace I've found increasingly that other companies are quoting competitively, so I don't use Grace as much now. Also, if you're just buying a bit of tubing and a union, comparing prices makes no sense unless also comparing delivery charges.
