Upgrade of 5972MSD to operate on Win XP or 2000NT

I have an 5890 GC, with 7673A autoloader, and 5972 MSD that is configured to a computer running Windows 3.1 (tragic) and would like to upgrade to a newer platform (preferably Windows XP or if I can't then to Windows 2000 NT). The 3.1 setup is running on Chemstation Version C.03.00. I also have Versions D.01.00 build 75 (Aug26/03) & Rev. B.01.00.

I know I will need a new HPIB card since the current one is ISA. I will be installing the PCI-HPIB on the new computer. Can this arrangement work with any of the software that I currently have? Thanks!
We run our 5972A on Windows95.
Thanks - do you know if your HPIB card is ISA (older with only one set of pins into the computer slot) or the newer PCI (has two separate sets of slot pins)? Or can you tell me the Rev number of your software? Thanks!
Our HPIB card is #82335 (older style) in a Pentium 1 computer 150 MHz (Vectra 5/150). Our 5972A GCMS software is G1701AA version A.02.00, and Windows 95. Its GC is a 6890A.
We have the same GC/MS configuration as you and our Windows 3.11 computer died on us some time ago. When trying to put the system on its feet again I learned that not all Chemstation software are compatible with all 5972s and/or all Windows Nt service packs. And not all HPIB cards can work with all 5972s and/or Chemsations. So I suggest that you contact Agilent for that information.
Hope it helps
Mike
You may find the following helpful. Make sure that you are using only one instrument and/or data analysis software license per instrument. The Agilent and NIST software licenses are both restricted to a single instrument/user.
