Hi,
I would like to know if some of you have an idea which configuration used to measure SO2 in pure CO2 in GC.
thanks for your help.

tiger2001,
This may not be much help but ABB in Lewisburg, W.VA does this all the time. They make a total sulfur analyzer which combusts hydrocarbons and then they measure the SO2 on an FPD. They might be able to help you.

If you are doing beverage grade CO2 the International Society of Beverage Technologists says that total sulfur must be run and if the total sulfur exceeds the specified limit then speciation by GC must be done with a sulfur selective detector.
ISBT procedure 13.0 Total sulfur content by thermo-oxidative sulfur analyzers
ISBT procedure 14.0 Sulfur dioxide by gas chromatography with a selective detector

Chromatographer,
Thanks for clarifying that. You (hopefully) learn something new every day. It also explains something I had been wondering about for years.
Best regards,
