Please help... GC-ECD wide peak problem

Hi All,

I am using a SRI GC-ECD system but I keep getting this wide round-top peak problem.

The system is: SRI GC-ECD, make up gas is N2 at 60 ml/min, carrier gas is N2. The start up is pretty good with signal less than 200 mv, which is recommended by SRI.

No leaks in the system; tried carrier gas flow rate from 10-20 ml/min; all fittings are as small as possible.
Nothing worked so far to solve this problem.

Can anyone give me some insights? I am out in a field lab and so streessed out now :(

Thanks!

Emma
A bit more detail might help.

What are you injecting when you get these peaks? Do they occur in the same place in every run?
