We have recently bought a used GC (Chrompack 9002) with a Star 800 Module.
We do not have the software for this.
And the galaxie software is very expensive (we received a quote from Agilent)

We only need this machine 5-10 times a year to do some substance testing for police (To tell them if it is cocaine, XTC etc..)
(We are the manufacturer of the MMC Narcotic Tests) (www.narcotictests.com)

Hope you guys can help me / advise me on how to get this thing work with other software.

We also will get a HP 5890 Series II machine with Chemstation, but I do not know if this software will work on the Chrompack machine...

5-10 times a year ... I would consider subcontracting these samples to other laboratory until you have mentioned HP 5890 with Chemstation.

Rather than Chemstation, you should look at Agilent's EZChrom Elite if you want control of both instruments.

Or you could buy a computing integrator and use the Chrompack as a stand -alone unit.
Good judgment comes from bad experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
Hello,

Maybe you can use the old Varian software. The Star WS.

Hello,

A cheap solution is Chromulan with 232SPDA AD converter B&B Electronics. Chromulan is free and the ADC is about 120 USD.
Just be careful about the analog output of the detector and the analog input of the ADC.

Regards,
Contact WWW.DATAAPEX.com for their control and data reduction software.
I have had this software running Agilent 1100s, and Shimdzu HPLC and HP/AGILENT 5890 and 6890.
And, it is extremely well priced and intuitive.
Good luck.
