Hi all,

Anyone who have run the 7000 GC/QQQ could help me to answer that the Agilent 7000A can operate both NCI and PCI in one single run?

Thanks and Merry Christmas
No. You can only detect positive ion or negative ion in a method. If by NCI you actually mean electron capture negative ionization (ECNI), MSMS will not buy you much over SIM. In MSMS you will lose signal in the collision cell due to the stripping of the electron that was attached to the molecule to make it an ion. Even in ture NCI where you form a negative ion with an adduct with an anion, you don’t have much of an advantage because the ionization process provides the specificity you want. :)
