HP Chemstation injector error codes

We have an older 5890 GC with Chemstation B.01.00 and the tower is HP7673 Model # 18593B with a # 18594B controller.
When we run a sequence, the first vial always runs ok but it aborts before starting the second vial. The data from the first run is fine. It just won't run more than one sample. The injector error codes we get are 157 and 8112.
Yesterday after it returned the first injected vial to the tray, it tried to do it again. That's new.
We're about to reload ChemStation. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What version of Windows are you using? The newest we use with a 5890 is Windows 2000 and A.09 ChemStation.

Sorry, I should have stipulated. Windows 2000.
Autosampler had been working perfectly for years, so something has changed. Corrupt .m or .s file? Controller going bad?

Is the tower or the control box blinking? If so, count them up.

No blinking lights on tower or controller... All appear normal.

Yes, it would be a decent idea to load up the default method (like def_gc.M) and default sequence (def_gc.s) make minimum changes and see what happens.
Any error message on the monitor when this happens? How long do you wait until you "punt" when this happens? I've noticed on mine that if I load a Method that has low temperatures for (example) the front inlet, front detector, or aux, and I only have a column in back or only using the back location, EVEN IF THE FRONT ZONES AND AUX ZONES ARE UNCHECKED under "Temperature", the GC will not become "Ready" until those zones drop to whatever temperature they are set for (even though "unchecked"). Go to the "Temperature" window when this happens, click on the other location inlet and detector temperatures, and aux, and see what number is entered there. If low (or high), make those maybe 125C, then click OK. Then go back in and just remove the check marks for those, click OK, then re-save the Method. I had to do just that yesterday when setting up one of my GCs to do parabens, which I hadn't done by GC in years; mine was waiting for cool down of the aux zone, even though I wasn't even using aux, it was just carried over from a previous Method I started with.

At the bottom of the instrument control window, we get the message "sequence aborted". The GC reads ready, so it's something with the sequence. It's been as long as overnight w/o moving on with the sequence. We've tried running default.m and .s with same results.

Under Sequence Parameters, you don't have anything linking to a Post-Sequence or Post-Injection macro, do you?

I just got this error today. I believe chemstation is looking for a tray on the 7673B controller. When I added a tray, the error went away.

On at least one of ours, when we want to use the tower without the tray, we need to power off and remove the tray circuit board from the control box.

I know this is kind of a dead tread, but I ran into the same problem today, problem is we dont have a tray, so I have no way of testing the tray theory. Did anybody ever find a solution?
