Metal coordination complex analysis

Dear All,
I would like to ask for advice regarding analysis of iron siderophore complexes. (Siderophores are iron chelating compounds with anionic or neutral oxygen to coordinate with the metal).
As a first stage I want to get a chromatogram with the metal-bound and metal-free siderophore peaks (In order to separate it later on a preparative column and get the purified complex).
I know that Hydroxamate siderophores should show different retention times with iron and iron free siderophores, whereas catecholate siderophores run only as iron free siderophores with ACN and 0.1% TFA.
I have tried to run Hydroxamate siderophore sample under that H2O/ACN with 0.1%TFA and I recieved a chromatogram with only the siderophore peak. Do you have any suggestions on the analytical conditions to be used in order to have a good seperation between the metal complex and the siderophore?
Do you have any suggestions about proper conditions for catecholate siderophores complexes?
Thank you in advance,
Ifat
