Chemstation to empower Migration: noise and drift

Hi all!
We are actually migrating from chemstation to empower.
We have problem to migrate some of our SST criterion, because of the difference of units beetween the two softwares.
Chemstation gives noise in mAU and Empower gives noise in uV (micro volts).
But how to convert mAU in uV for our criterion? Is it possible? Does it depend of the HPLC (Agilent 1100)?
For people that have migrated, how have you solved this problem?
Thanks all
Rico

How many volts are your detectors putting out for full scale (usually either 1 or 2 depending on the detector brand)?
How many AU corresponds to full scale for your detector (this may vary with settings in individual method files)?
If you have an a1100 detector that puts out 1V for 1AU, 1000µV corresponds to 1mAU.
If you are calculating S/N ratios, you will find that since your peak heights and baseline noise are all in the same units, the units all cancel out (so it does not matter in the end).
There is one caveat - Empower does tend to report baseline noise in µ units and peak height in m units, so you do have to include a conversion factor of 1000 in your calculation (unless you're jumping into Empower 3 where I think these calculations are all pre-written).

If you are making a custom field to calculate the signal to noise, make sure you don't use the "noise" value in Empower for your noise in the calculation. You want to use one of the other values such as average peak to peak noise.

Thank you all for your response.
And what about the noise measurement between chemstation and Empower?
I have now the conversion factor between mAU and voltage. But I need to know what kind of noise measurement in Empower 2 is the same or the nearest of the noise measurement in Chemstation.
For the moment our SST criterion for noise is ASTM noise on a range of 10 minutes (short term noise, "understanding your chemstation", p.250) given by chemstation.
What is the equivalent fonction in Empower 2?
Thank you

This Question is for empowerguru,
Can you explain me
Where do You get the equivalences for AU and Volts?
I can´t understand that equivalence
Thanks
