ROM upgrade to ver. 5.42 for Shimadzu SCL-10AVP

ROM upgrade to ver. 5.42 for Shimadzu SCL-10AVP

I bought an old Shimadzu HPLC with a SCL-10AVP controller. As I was integrating it with XCalibur software, I realized that I need to upgrade ROM to ver. 5.42 from 5.40. I called Shimadzu, and they asked for more money than what I paid for the controller. Is there any way I can do the upgrade myself?

In order to upgrade the rom you need special software and cables, so I would guess that it might not be posible for you to do it.

Shimadzu's FAQ says that it was possible to upgrade ROM from a floppy drive. Maybe someone still has the floppy...
