Thermo Ultra Trace GC with DSQII MS

Hello I was wondering if anyone else has a Thermo Ultra Trace GC with DSQII MS. I am new to GC/MS analyses and have only received the basic training ( which is outlined in the getting started book supplied with the equipment) with just enables me to run a sample.
I have tried reading the quantitative book provided with the instrument a while back and found it somewhat a difficult read.
Can some of you users please tell me how to go about quantifying a sample using standards. Also how do you effectively use the qual browser, so far the most I ever did with the qual browser was to open a sample I ran.
