Waters 2796 "Couldn't measure the deck offset" ?

Hello,

We have Waters 2796 Bioseparation Module. After replacing the needle and press "OK". The needle wants to re-home to its position.

However, after a while, it shows the error message "Couldn't measure the deck offset". What does it mean? And how should I solve the problem? (Any manual/guide book I can refer?)

Thanks for your input!!!

Did you power cycle it after completing needle replacement?

The manual with a detailed replacement procedure can be found here:

Are you sure the flag on the replacement needle was on the right side of the needle when viewed from the front? I'd have to guess that if the flag was positioned incorrectly, the instrument wouldn't be able to determine the needle's position.

Good Luck!

Hi,

when you say the needle wants to go to it's home position after changing the needle. You still have the covers off? does the needle move to the A1 position move down when you press okay for completion of needle change?
If it does and it does see the bottom needle sensor, it won't complete the deck offset calibration. You can monitor the needle bottom LED on the fluidics driver board. Also you need to verify that the needle flag is in the sensor.
