Hi!
I have a problem.
When i start my Shimadzu GC-FID, my signal is -5000mv...habitually, the signal is 0mv
All the gas flow are ok, my flame is on and the connection are ok.
What do you think about that?

Rick,

Just a guess, not really familiar with Shimadzu's, but I would guess you are grounding somewhere. Have you pulled the detector apart to see if the collector or signal bar is touching something it shouldn't be?

Best regards.

Thank you AICMM
I have found the problem last week..sorry for the delay.
The problem is a FID contaminated.....the method of analysis (alcohol) suggest 200c for FID detector.....200c is low so i suspect accumulation of contamination...i have increase detector temperature from 200 to 350 and effectively some contamination was present in my detector.
After 8h at 350c, my signal is perfect.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards and sorry for my english.

Rick
