Dear friends,

We have a problem in our GC/MS the vacuum stopped after five minutes and we check all ports of connected tools and untill now we don't know the reason of this problem which cause stopping of instrument. My equipment is SHIMADZU QP 2010.

Thanks for help.

I would use manual startup of the vacuum system instead of the Autostart function. Call your local Shimadzu rep if you do not know this procedure. After you start the rotary pump watch the reading on the low vacuum gauge. The exponent should reach 0 within a few minutes. If the system stabilizes at a higher value e.g. 3e1 there is a large vacuum. If the reading is below 10 (1e1) start up the turbo pumps. If the turbos fail to reach operating speed within a few minutes you will get an error message and the vacuum light on the front of the MS will turn red.

Hi Ron,
Of course, the turbomolecular pump fail to reach operating speed within 5 minutes and I have got an error message tell me the instrument will shut down automatically and the instrument don't work. Hoever the lower vacuum is 4 Pa and the pumpstopped before it move to high vauum. By the way I try to opeerate the vacuum manually.

Thanks
