I realize that there are plenty of threads with this topic, but I'm in need of a little "dumber" direction.

What are the macros you use to transfer data to excel and do they work with v. 10.02. I dont need it to go to excel but Im use to working with it.

Im not very savvy with chem station, I'm looking into using the batch file option but cant seem to make that work. I've also explored Chemexcel but the calibration portion of that process wasn't working for me.

I'm not a chemist. I work with sunflower breeding and use the GC for fatty acid analysis, I want to know the area percentages of four peaks, that it nothing else. I use a standard (18A) that is 11% palmitate, 3% Stearate, 80% Oleate and 6% Linoleate.

Thanks for any information.

When you generate a report you can choose to generate an excel file as well (or, at least, I assume you can with v.10.02 as I can do it with a version of Chemstation running on Windows 3.1, hehe). You may have to specify it in the report template if you have that.

Anyway, once you generate an excel file I would suggest creating a template and linking your generated data file to the template. This can rather easily be done by opening Excel, creating a new worksheet (just click 'New'), clicking the 'Restore Window' button between Minimize and Maximize so that your new worksheet isn't maximized (you can minimize it if you want I guess), opening the data file you generated, selecting a cell you want to link to, Ctrl-C to copy the cell, click over to your new template, select the cell where you want the linked data to show up, right click the cell, select 'Paste Special', and select 'Paste Link'. Then when you want to use the template for a new data file open the template, go to 'Edit', select 'Links', click 'Change Source', and then find the new data file and click 'OK'.
