Hi!

I was asked recently if an electron multiplier or a photomultiplier would be the better choice as detector for a LC-MS/MS.

Can someone answer this question?

Photomultipler may have a longer stable performance that electron one since it is sealed and under vaccumm. The drawback is any exposure to light may damage it.
